On 19th February, we met with the councilor for the environment – Rocío Guijarro – and the councilor for finance – Mayte García -, from the municipality of L´Alfàs del Pi. We analyze in detail the fiscal policies proposed by the # LOCAL4GREEN project to promote renewable energy sources and the local authorities have reiterated their interest in continuing to study some of them, within the @interregmed program.
The modifications of the municipal taxes seem to be the most adequate, in particular the reductions of the tax on economic activities, the tax of immovable property and the tax on constructions, installations and works, for the taxpayers that use renewable energies.
As we have noted in other pilot municipalities, the limitations imposed by the legal framework make it more difficult to introduce reductions in municipal taxes, particularly in the rate of occupancy of lands for public use by tables, chairs, umbrellas and other decorative elements. and functional, as well as other analogous facilities for profit.
The experts of the @MUSOL Foundation will continue collaborating with L’Alfàs del Pi to adapt the proposed tax policies to the reality of the municipality and will elaborate proposals for legal reforms to improve the capacity of municipalities to promote renewable energies through other fees.
Thanks @ancilazio to provide us the way to comunicate!
